About Salsa Level 1
Salsa Level 1 is the structured beginner class that takes you from 'I have no idea what to do with my feet' to dancing a full song with a partner. Over 50 minutes you'll learn the salsa basic step, the cross-body lead, the right turn for both lead and follow, and how to hear the salsa count without having to count out loud. No partner required, no experience required, no awkwardness — just a clear curriculum taught by working pros in a room that's warm and beginner-first.
What you'll learn
You'll learn the side basic, back basic, the cross-body lead, the right turn for both leads and follows, and a clean prep-and-execution that doesn't yank or surprise your partner. We layer in musicality — finding the 'one,' riding the clave and choosing moves that match the song — and you'll finish class dancing a full song with a rotating partner so the skills actually stick before you walk out the door.
Why this class works
Salsa Level 1 is the prerequisite for Salsa Level 2 on Sundays, and the curriculum is designed so every skill you learn here shows up directly in the next level. Instructors give individual corrections every class, partner rotation builds adaptability fast, and the small class cap means you're never lost in the back of the room. Most students are dancing socially within a few weeks of starting here.
Level 1 is the first rung of a nine-class program — see the full lineup of salsa classes in Las Vegas to know where the ladder goes from here.
