Salsa Technique is the class that separates dancers who feel okay on the floor from dancers who actually look and feel like they belong there. It's a solo, no-partner-needed session focused entirely on what your own body is doing — the clean step, the silent landing, the shoulders that stay quiet while the hips do the talking. Whether you're brand new and want to build a strong foundation before partnering up, or already social-dancing and ready to fix the bad habits creeping into your basic, this is the hour that pays off in every other class you take.
Expect timing drills to lock in the 1-2-3, 5-6-7 count, weight-transfer reps that quiet your upper body, body isolations for hips, ribs and shoulders, and styling layers you can actually use the moment you partner up. We also break down the most common foot patterns you'll see in every salsa class on the schedule — cross-body lead footwork, side basics, back basics and turn-prep mechanics — so when you walk into Salsa Level 1 or Salsa Level 2, your body already knows what to do.
Technique class is the secret weapon of every dancer who 'just looks good.' By stripping the partner away, we remove every excuse and force the work to happen inside your own body — which is exactly where real dancing lives. Our instructors give individual corrections, mirror-check posture in real time, and layer skills slowly enough that you can actually feel them click. One hour a week here is worth a month of socials.
Salsa Technique runs Mondays at 6:30 PM. Reserve your spot below — the room caps small so we can give real feedback, and dancers who string Technique with Salsa Level 1 the same night progress noticeably faster.
Beginner-to-intermediate salsa dancers who want sharper feet, better posture and cleaner styling
Do I need to know how to dance already?
Not at all — Technique is for total beginners through intermediates. Everyone benefits from cleaner footwork.
Is this a partner class?
No. Salsa Technique is solo work — perfect if you don't have a partner or want to focus purely on your own movement.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and smooth-soled shoes so you can pivot without sticking to the floor.
