How We Teach Adults to Dance
Teaching adults is a different craft from teaching kids, and our adult faculty is built around it. Adults arrive with real lives attached — long workdays, old "I have two left feet" stories, and zero interest in being embarrassed. So every adult class here runs on the same principles: break everything into counts a total beginner can follow, rotate partners so nobody needs to bring one, and get you dancing to real music in the first session rather than drilling in place for a month.
The instructors on this page cover complementary specialties by design. You can start with LA-style salsa fundamentals, cross into bachata or cumbia with a different teacher the same week, and go deep on On2 mambo technique when you're ready — without ever leaving the building or re-learning a conflicting system. They teach the same counts and the same terminology, so what you learn in one room works in every other.
Most students start with a group class — the first one is free — and add private lessons when they want to accelerate a specific skill: leading confidently at a social, styling for a performance, or polishing a wedding dance. If you're not sure which instructor fits, just show up: teachers regularly point students to the colleague whose class matches their goals best.
