Everything you need to know before your first class at My Roots Dance Studio in Las Vegas.
- Do I need a partner to take a class here?
- No partner needed at all! Most of our students come solo and we rotate partners in class so everyone gets to dance with different people. It's actually one of the best ways to meet new friends in the studio.
- I've never danced before, is this place beginner friendly?
- Absolutely. Most of our students walked in with zero experience. Our beginner classes (Salsa Level 1, Bachata Level 1, Intro to Latin Rhythms) are designed specifically for people starting from scratch. Your first class is on us so you can try it risk-free.
- What should I wear to my first class?
- Comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes with smooth soles (avoid rubber-bottom sneakers — they stick to the floor). Dance shoes are great if you have them but not required. Bring water!
- Do you offer classes for kids?
- Yes! We have a full youth program for ages 4-12 covering Latin dance fundamentals. Saturday classes. First class is free for kids too.
- Is there parking on site?
- Yes, free parking right at the studio. Plenty of spaces.
- What styles of Latin dance do you teach?
- Salsa, bachata (both traditional and sensual), reggaeton, cumbia, merengue, cha cha, and intro to Latin rhythms which combines several styles. We also offer private lessons and have a youth program.
- Do you have classes in Spanish?
- Our instructors are bilingual and classes are taught in a mix of English and Spanish depending on the class and group. Everyone is welcome regardless of language.
- How much is a membership?
- Our first-month special is $75 for unlimited classes, then $150/month for unlimited after that. We also offer drop-in rates and class packages. First class is always free so you can try before you commit.
- Can I rent the studio for a private event?
- Yes! We have three rentable studios with mirrors and sound systems, perfect for parties, baby showers, photo shoots, quinceañeras, and corporate events. DM us or call for rates and availability.
- What makes My Roots different from other dance studios?
- We're a Latino-owned, locally-owned studio focused on authentic Latin dance, not a franchise. Our instructors are working professional dancers and performers, not just dance teachers. The vibe is welcoming and beginner-friendly — we genuinely want people to fall in love with Latin dance.
