About Salsa 201
Salsa 201 is where social dancers stop counting in their head and start actually dancing. This intermediate class assumes you know the basic step, the cross-body lead and a simple right turn. From there we build the fluency, footwork and musicality that separate a comfortable beginner from a dancer who can hold their own at any Vegas salsa night. Class runs 50 minutes, partners rotate, and every drill is designed to translate directly to the social floor — not just look good in the mirror.
What you'll learn
Expect cross-body lead variations, hammerlocks, copas, double and triple turns, and the kind of clean prep-and-execution that makes follows say 'wow, that was smooth.' We also drill musicality: hitting breaks, riding the clave, and choosing moves that match the song instead of just running combos on autopilot. Leads sharpen their signaling, follows sharpen their spins and balance, and everyone leaves with sequences they can actually use the same week at a social.
Why this class works
Salsa 201 is taught by Julian, a working performer and instructor with years on stage and on the social circuit. He breaks complex patterns into bite-sized blocks, names the common mistakes before you make them, and gives individual feedback every single class. Because we keep partner rotation tight, you'll feel the move with five or six different bodies in a single night — which is the fastest way for your body to learn what 'right' actually feels like.

Frequently asked
Is Salsa 201 too advanced for me?
Not if you can dance a full song to basic salsa music and lead or follow a cross-body lead — that's the whole entry bar. 201 is where technique gets polished, not where beginners get lost.
Do I need a partner?
Come solo — 201 rotates like every class here, and dancing your patterns with many partners is exactly what this level trains.
Can I drop in or do I need a package?
Either works — 201 is bookable as a single drop-in class or on a multi-class pack. Most weekly regulars choose a pack; pricing depends on which you pick.
