About Rueda de Casino
Rueda de Casino is Cuban-style salsa danced in a circle of couples with a caller shouting moves in Spanish — it's part dance class, part party, all community. Originating in 1950s Havana, rueda has exploded worldwide because it solves the two hardest things about social dancing: finding partners and staying in sync. Our 90-minute Thursday class teaches the calls, the patterns and the playful Cuban style that makes rueda so addictive.
What you'll learn
We start every class with the foundational calls — Dame, Dame Dos, Enchufla, Sombrero, Setenta — then layer in new moves each week. Because partners rotate on nearly every call, you learn lead-follow with dozens of people in a single night. Gustavo also teaches the relaxed Cuban basic step, body movement and the playful styling that makes rueda look so good.
