About Bachata / Cha Cha Footwork
Bachata / Cha Cha Footwork is the solo-styling class every social dancer should take. We alternate between bachata shines — the solo footwork moments that fill the gap between turns — and classic cha cha basics, giving you a versatile footwork vocabulary you can drop into any Latin dance. Open level, no partner required.
What you'll learn
Bachata blocks cover taps, syncopations, body rolls and footwork variations that look great solo or while connected. Cha cha blocks cover the cha-cha-cha basic, cross-body lead, the new-yorker, hand-to-hand and chase turns. Gustavo also teaches you how to read a song and choose the right footwork for the moment — energy up, energy down, fast, slow.
Why this class works
Social dancers who add footwork instantly look more skilled, even with the same partner-work vocabulary. By focusing class time entirely on the things you do with your own body, this class builds muscle memory faster than mixed partner classes. You'll see your dancing level up within a few weeks.

Frequently asked
Do I need to know cha cha already?
No. We teach the basic from scratch every few weeks.
Is this a partner class?
Mostly solo footwork, with occasional partner application.
Will this help my regular bachata?
Hugely. Shines are the fastest way to look like a real bachata dancer.
