About Kids Salsa 101
Kids Salsa 101 introduces young dancers to the world's most popular Latin partner dance in an age-appropriate, structured setting. Kids learn the salsa basic step, simple turns and the partner connection skills that make salsa such a powerful confidence-builder. Daytime scheduling makes the class perfect for homeschool families and weekday enrichment.
What you'll learn
Class covers the salsa basic step in all directions, weight transfer, timing, and beginner turn patterns including the right turn and the cross-body lead. Kids practice with rotating partners (age-appropriate) and learn the basics of leading and following, which builds communication, listening and social confidence on top of the dance technique itself.
Why this class works
Salsa builds rhythm, coordination, social skills and cultural literacy — all at once. Our kid-specific approach uses age-appropriate music, short attention-sized blocks and a structure that makes the class feel like play instead of practice. Kids who go through Salsa 101 are visibly more confident and often graduate into Salsa 201 within a season.
